Sideshow Don's milking the tape issue for attention and drama. He'll wait till just before the deadline to turn them over to announce they don't exist. You can predict what he'll do on everything by asking yourself what a reality show writer would do to maximize the drama. It's White House: Presidential Apprentice.

In a choice between political theater and minding the nation's business, it's not even a contest. The sideshow will win every time.

He's the biggest leaker in DC, both directly and indirectly. He revels in seeing press accounts speculating on which Presidential aide will be fired next. Who's on thin ice. Who's in favor. I guarantee you he's the anonymous source behind most of those stories. When someone occasionally is fired, he then gets all the attention from coverage of whom he's considering hiring next.

This morning there was a story that Preibus has been given till July 4 to get things under control. I can guarantee you that came from Sideshow Don, leaked either directly or through one of his aides. Is it true? Who cares? But clearly the story comes from inside the White House. Directly or through an aide, from Trump himself. He probably hasn't talked to Preibus at all about any deadline. He likes to jerk his people around and he likes drama.

If things threaten to settle down, he can always fire off some inflammatory tweets and create a new national drama. He's done it over and over during the primaries, the campaign and now in office. There will be no end. The President is a narcissist who craves attention. He ran for President for fame and attention. Now he's milking the Presidency for it while also monetizing the Presidency to increase his family's wealth.

Look at the Muslim ban issue. Trump keeps pushing a (partial) Muslim ban which keeps failing in the courts partly because he keeps undermining each EO with his tweets. But the ban was to be 90 days while we implement some undefined 'extreme vetting.' Though he claims to have started extreme vetting, nothing's actually changed. And if we'd started 'extreme vetting', we wouldn't need the temporary ban. The whole issue is a sideshow distraction. The only thing accomplished is to stir up his base and have someone to blame (the courts) when the next terror attack comes.
