George, both you and Thomas are missing a few key points to ponder here.

Colocation is where WCOM will physically house FTEL's Tempest on premise at their UUNET pops worldwide. Do you think they are going to allow just anybody to take up real estate within their locations?

Those boxes have to be maintained. Those boxes, and I bring your attention to the pluralization of boxes, meaning many boxes in populous locations, will take up a lot of real estate. Do you think WCOM is just going to take a rental fee for the real estate? Or does it seem more plausible that they will probably take some form of revenue sharing?

If sharing was your answer, I congratulate you.

Now consider this, with all the DVG's out there, do you think Worldcom wants their physical locations cluttered with thousands of boxes, throwing off incredible amounts of heat, and sucking up resources both human and electrical? Do you think they want to have their onsite engineers be trained across a broad spectrum of many vendors platforms and intricacies? I don't think so.

Do you think Worldcom would settle for anything less then toll quality signals coming out of their locations? I don't think so!

Skepticsm is always prudent in any investment, but sometimes you have to believe when validation comes a knockin.
