I think we need a conservative party and I hope the Federalist party develops into a viable one.

The Republicans pretend to be conservative but have been betraying conservatives for decades. It's a miracle Reagan got the nomination and after he did Republicans recruited a moderate Republican to run third party against him in hopes of defeating him.

We have open primaries in all the red states so Democrats can vote in Republican primaries and pick the most liberal candidate for us to run. In 2016, 12M Democrats voted in Republican primaries - 9M for Trump, who only got a little over 3M votes from actual Republicans. So the party ended up nominating a Democrat. And he won. That was preferable to the people who run the party to a conservative getting the nomination. Now we have a Democrat/Republican President and Dem-Lite Republican leadership in Congress. And it shows.

Right now, Republicans have the WH and both houses and we are still funding PP, continuing Obama's executive amnesty, continuing Obamacare (what they're proposing to replace it with is just reformed Obamacare - oh btw the President just slammed the House bill as mean - guess he doesn't even want that passed), continuing to resettle refugees from the ME (actually intending to increase the numbers) ..... why? There is no intention to really turn things around in a conservative direction in either the WH or Congress. You can point to Gorsuch and pulling out of the Paris Accords and that's about it.

Everything else is "intention" and empty promises for the future. No 55 foot concrete reinforced rebar wall funding ... not even completion of the fencing called for in the 2006 Secure Fence Act. No extreme vetting. A make believe "Muslim ban" which does nothing (its a sop and distraction) and blather about going after sanctuary cities when the Obama/Trump executive amnesty makes the country a sanctuary nation.
