i've posted this before but in pre-split numbers.
cpq can be 70-75 at end of january.
but, also the street could move cpq to 40 presplit crash if they don't understand that cpq is going to report a 1q98 that is 10% below 4q97. but still a monster qtr.
my guess is inventory is 4.5 weeks and 27.7% gross margins.
plus reserves to allow for any sales they need to make in 1q98.
so this is charged against 1997 and will not apply to 1998 when they happen in january

<<Being newbie....provide assumptions....69/70>>

In addition to steve's comments:
1) Great 3Q news with bad timing (Oct crash), market is aware of "over-looked" price appreciation CPQ endured.
2) Splits traditionally accelerate price appreciation.
3) Word about 4Q earnings are beginning to leak
4) Persons I know who work at CPQ are "implying" good news is coming.
