Hi Kirk,

Thank You for your kind words here and at Facebook.

Mom was a fighter and strong.

She had always had gastrointestinal problems going way back to her childhood when she had a burst appendix while removing it.

The two kids she gave birth to and a blockage in her middle years added to the complexity.

She had sought a surgeon to correct a large hernia, that most other doctors did not want to touch( as her age made the difficult procedure an "unknown").

A surgeon at Froedtert, in Milwaukee was counseled, and at the time advised it should be deferred - unless it became a necessity. In January he considered it elective and recommend deferring it.

Then it became "Incarcerated" or strangulated which changed it from elective to required.

It was 2 1/2 hours and she came through it well.

On the 3rd day they discovered a leak in her small intestine which would have been certainly fatal.

It was then, I had to suspend her living will and put her on a breathing machine, as she needed two more 2 hour surgeries.

She came through those very well, as she fought off sepsis.

She had both a strong kidney and heart.

Sadly she was very weak and the "fix" of her small intestine did not heal.

She succumbed to the sepsis and passed quickly while at Richardson (which is a little know gem in Sheboygan County). They were exceptional to Mom and our family.

Your kind words and thoughtfulness have helped me greatly - in what was tougher than I thought it would be.

You have been a long time friend and I consider myself fortunate to know you.

Thank You again for your thoughtful words and kind friendship.

Bob
