That's a very tragic story. There are similar situations in the US - residency programs are the bottle neck, for many people. Some efing social planners failed to "match" their quotas for numbers of med students and the available residency slots. Should fire all of the bureaucrats involved, and let the markets decide instead - if there will be too many docs, they'll be willing to work for less. That's all. But we all know this will never happen.
