You're right. FLOPPY replacement, not CD-ROM replacement...

Now that you mention it, neither does anyone. I've installed hard
drives, modems and CD-ROMs and they all had floppies for installation.
You can't read from a new drive until the software is installed.
And as for Iomega providing 2 CD-ROMs: to put that much software
on ZIP disks would take about 10 disks. Not good business.

I bet you would prefer to get VCR installation instructions on a
VHS tape.
