You seem to be pushing several conflicting visions - which do you really favor?

1) A single giant solar farm in a desert somewhere that supplies an entire continent with electricity - ala your Desertec article OR

2) Commercial solar farms and wind turbine farms all over generating and storing their power to deliver to customers over the grid OR

3) No grid and households dependent on their own roof top solar panels and wind turbines, storing their power in powerwalls in their individual home.

These are very different visions.
