Emory,

Thanks. I've been wondering for some years how and why the stock and bond markets have risen in lockstep, when they ought to be sending different messages. That relationship seems to be changing now, as bonds have exploded while stocks have been stagnant. Wish I could figure out what it all means. Are the bonds telling us we are going to have recession and the stocks confirming it? Or is it all just string-pulling by the various governmental manipulators in light of the Asian crises? Or some of both?

Jack
