I think one of the main problems in America is that we think of our health as separate from our lives. I do not have a number precisely on target but the vast majority of our health care activity derives from lifestyle. A long time ago when I was first showing indications of high blood pressure I spoke with a bright colleague about lifestyle changes. She had made none of them. Said it's easier to take a pill. Never forgot that conversation. Even easier to take a pill with single payer.
