I like the idea of owning gold and or silver but I don't see it as a growth investment. I took a position in junk silver a while back (actually in the early 1970s) and have held it for darker times through thick and thin. Hopefully I'll eventually die with it untouched and pass it on to whomever. Helps me sleep while I take risks in other trading.

Gold has a habit of gaping overnight. I won't take the risk of no position.
