I agree with your logic... higher rates means a stronger dollar, therefore weaker gold... so it would seem... and so far it looks like it's turning out that way, the dollar is turning higher and gold seems ready for a slide downward...

West Texas Intermediate Crude chart is not supportive of the idea that oil is bottoming. I say that as a trader currently holding a half stake in Exxon stock position. So is the cup half full or half empty, I do not know. Waiting for another shoe to drop.
