Serving up reliable remote access requires both sturdiness and
reliability--traits we didn't find lacking in any of the products we reviewed.
But what enabled some to rise higher than others were the extras and
innovations that help to deliver excellent remote access. The undisputed
winner on these points is 3Com's NETServer/8 I-modem Plus. But we were
also impressed with the D-Link DI-1184 Remote Access Server and the
Shiva LanRover/E Plus.
