" giving money to FIJI does not one damned thing to solve the problem"
There is mitigation, which is getting off of carbon, and adaptation, which is adjusting to climate change by moving, building sea walls, buying land in other countries, etc. Fiji money is to help them adapt to the problem.

It's OK with me to give no adaptation money to anybody not living in US territory, as long as we vigorously pursue mitigation here.

Besieged by the rising tides of climate change, Kiribati buys land in Fiji ...

You tend to use words and concepts that you don't understand or are mis-informed on.

Case in point.

It isn't proved, hence, it is a theory.

Yep, it is a theory. Pretty much everything we know is a theory. Evolution. Quantum mechanics. Newtonian physics. For all, there is significant proof. And there is more than enough proof that a rational person has to concede the reality they describe.

But we're talking about spending very large sums of money -- amounts so huge, that if we are wrong, it will cause irreparable harm that it could well be something we can't recover from.

Now you are fear mongering. I dunno if it is ignorance or malfeasance, but this is not even vaguely true. You are classing wrongly fighting climate change on the same scale as a cometary strike on the planet. Probably worse than a major nuclear exchange. And that is laughable on the face of it.

Unless you have some actual numbers. You do have more than hysterics, don't you?
