Perhaps you are ignorant about how Greenspan's speeches are produced. There are economists (who are past their prime to do original research) are assigned the task of writing the speeches. A friend and colleague of mine often wrote speeches for Greenspan based on research ideas of relevance generated by other economists. During my 5 years at the Fed, many of my ideas have gone into such speeches and have been legislated into law governing bank regulation in the US. I use my time for original research and read others' research, and generally do not waste my time in reading speeches based on such research. Quite frankly, I do not have much time to argue with you too.
