I consider AGW to be much more settled science than say, sociology.

Can't argue with that, at its core. At the fringes it is susceptible to the same iffiness because of testability. Facts and logic are naturally strained by attenuation.

Sociology is barely science.

See: "The Bell Curve". Excellent science, roundly rejected by the community of sociologists. Psychology, same thing. The great scientists of psychology are long gone; today, it is hair-on-fire excitement over pscyho-babble.

"More settled" than that isn't impressive.

The idea of "settled science" that is still debated by significant numbers of people -- and AGW is -- is itself unsettling to me. That it is "settled" within a given political context means nothing, scientifically.
