IN the report, half the emissions occurred outside the factory, during the mining process. They were, in fact, studying it for Swedish manufacturing -- so it would make sense that you can't apply the 8 years to Teslas built in a solar powered factory. But still, it is significant when four years' worth of carbon is required -- particularly given we don't know how long those batteries actually last.

The point holds for all electric vehicles, although perhaps less for those manufactured by Tesla.

Not that CO2 necessarily matters, but for those who argue it does, it needs to be considered.
