I usually haven't a clue where the download file should reside. By saving the SCF file before downloading, and then executing that file, I don't understand how that prevents the threat. You would have to be able to somehow identify that the downloaded file is harmful.

So, the question is, are you relying on your own abilities, or perhaps a virus protector to alert you before executing the file? Or simply not allow any SCF file to be executed, is that the trick?

Why does Chrome allow for automatic downloads if such a threat is present?
