I have also heard Rush Limbaugh talk of the move to finance
the entire educational system's connections to the Internet
through some swift re-interpretation of a minor "empowerment
law" that was passed last year. We can thank our goodhearted
Al gore for the new interpretation. Vote wisely, or don't
vote at all.

At present they have backed off from adding to all phone bills,
now saying they will place the extra charges only on
households with two phone lines due to computer related
use. The phone companies were even nervous because the
government wanted the extra monthly charge -

NOT TO BE ITEMISED

- on our monthly phone bills. The phone companies
felt their customers would blame them for the action
when in fact the force to do it that way came from the
Clinton Administration.

Politics is a typically wicked part of our society,
and if this is not related to the billing you guys
have mentioned above: Folks, we're about to be "dinged"
twice. If this underhanded method of doing things
gets passed off by most as the American way,
I am ashamed.

and Guaranteed, once they start, they will NOT backup!

Dave

(Any political feelings I mention above should in no way
to be related to the likes of Congressman Bono, a truly
unique individual.)

?? WHO HAS THE GUTS TO SAY YES ?? This is NO CHAIN LETTER!

I move that we combine posts 1499 and 1500 and 1501,
then each of us introduce it to 2 different threads
with suggestion they in turn do the same.
Upon saturating SI with the news, that all readers
should expand the process throughout the Internet
so everyone can take advantage of the legal time limit
allowed to express their opinion on this matter.

This is not a chain letter.
The action is to divulge important timely information
in an efficient manner.
"THE MOTIVATION OF EACH READER DOWN THE LINE" will
continue it; The desire to express their own
otherwise unrepresented opinion will come from within.
In this light it is their letter to send. If they
change to words I don't care. But the information will
travel on its merit alone if we introduce the method
for all members to see it expand throughout the Silicon
Investor.

However, I strongly suggest that within SI we begin by
retaining a "theme" for the first line of the entry we
spread. I suggest capitalizing on the effectiveness
of Cheryl's most appropriate first line with a twist.

#1499 "THE OFF TOPIC SUBJECT"

then leave it's fate in the hands of the people around us.
(and enjoy watching the results.)

once we have done our 2 minute part, we can be satisfied
it will be carried on by thankful others,
and get back to the matters at hand.

No, I don't think I'm jumping the gun. This is a timely
thing. I'll admit, I'm quite concerned! Thanks, for
allowing me to be concerned!
Others have the right to be concerned as well,
- and well before it is too late.

Dave

Let's send these three in their entirety as self explanatory
and wish it good luck. Success will make any redicule well
worth it.

This is my wish, Cheryl! May your words inspire the Web
into appropriate action!

Before we get all up in arms, perhaps we should get our facts together!! Please read the e-mail below from 1997. I hope OUR DD is better on CVIA!

This is an automated response to the message you sent to isp@fcc.gov.
We established this mailbox for informal comments about usage of the public switched telephone network by Internet access and information service providers for a proceeding on this matter in 1997.

If you are responding to a message stating that local phone companies have asked the FCC for permission to impose per-minute charges for Internet access, please be aware that this information is out of date. The FCC decided in May 1997 NOT to allow imposition of interstate access charges on Internet service providers. There is no comment period currently open in this proceeding.

More information on Access Charges and the ISP proceeding
is available at

Look for more features and announcements on our Web site,

(thanks to you Mike. The voting time taken on this side issue
may be very short indeed! Updated yesterday to that?
I wonder what it said 2 days ago. As for my DD, I'm really
just into inferring what we've already got on record and
the truth of that. The further DD is handeled by others here
to my satisfaction, like you just did!
It's leaving me comfortable to do what comes up
as i decide when and if i will buy. In fact, it's
probably best to think of me that way when i begin the posting
about your question. And thanks for your DD on #s 1499, 1500, & 1501.
That's the way it seems to be best done here, and with your added
involvement I'm gratified to see we are breaking new ground.
welcome once more to the thread. I personally appreciate
your contact! - Dave)
