Quad-K. Hee hee. OK, I'll admit to a bit of hyperbole here, BUT...BUT
seriously, if you have watched and charted this stock (I'm not a TA
guy), just for the purpose of watching this particular phenomena, you
will find that more times than not, it goes up in a down market, and
down in an up market. There's a guy on this thread (I forget his name)
that does some real detailed (real detailed stuff) on his web page.
I'd bet he could put this phenomena to the test, and it would show.
This has been discussed a few times here. Why does it happen? Who
knows. We DO know that the MM's play the spreads on this sucker like
a Stradivarius though! You (not me <laugh>) CAN make $$ on this stock
but, not in the conventional fashion (IMVHO). At least not in the
shape it's been in for the last 2 years. Anyway, it's frustrating..Joe

Some other curious things about trading NOVL

The stock spikes up on volume. Now if I wanted to move the stock up given that only 1.9 mil traded today, I would look at the number of asked shares. Usually you can take 1/4 point and find well below 4000 shares at each 16th up. So a bunch of 5000 share buys at ask price orders could move the stock up rapidly.

Next time this happens I think I'll look at the tape.
