These are the Western Digital part numbers for the two drives. The 8TB runs hotter than the 6TB.

Everest Test / Benchmarking software

I haven't used this utility in awhile and see it has been discontinued and now is called AIDA64

I often used Everest to created an extremely detailed breakdown on my computers.

I recommend downloading the trial version maybe once a year and let it detail your machine and save the file for future reference.

I tried it and found it even provided the hard drive platter information I was asking about to the manufacturer who wouldn't provide it.
