AP Newsfeed, 17:33 Mystery of Drilling Stocks Fall Explained

Today after market close it was revealed that Sears had been having a January Clearance Sale on oil-drilling stocks, causing the sector to collapse.

"Everything Must Go!", said a Sears spokesperson who declined to be named.

When asked by the press why Sears was dabbling in the stock market, the red-faced spokesperson called corporate HQ. Snippets of the discussion were overheard, mainly consisting of outburts like, "... but I could have SWORN you said drilling stocks boss!".

The Spokesperson confirmed that, "OK folks, the sale is OVER!" late in the afternoon.

It is rumored that power tools and drill accessories will be heavily discounted at Sears stores starting tomorrow morning.
