LOL.... yes once you get above the tree line at 10,000 feet or so, and the vegetation becomes very sparse as well. It really surprised me when I first saw that myself. ... you don't see much color in many of the mountains.

I know that at the top of Pike' s Peak in Colorado....not to far from Colorado Springs and the Broadmoor Hotel ...it's 14,400 feet and you can feel the relative lack of oxygen in the atmosphere.

The young kids from 5 to 10 years old seem less impacted by dearth of Oxygen. It did seem to impact many of the "grown ups" at least a little.
