It may be a case of the hardware is not able to run on a newer OS. I don't think this is a big mistake as the media like to portray, and I don't think it will put the ship at risk. The media like to over hyper negative news. Like I said before a state of the art hospital in my city runs XP.

I'm not a battle ship builder, but if I were, after installing the best systems available, I'd configure their displays to mimic some obsolete operating system available to the general public before I allowed media photographers access.

I haven't decided if the Captain's system should feature images from "The Legend of Zelda" or "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" though, or to reserve the latest game screens for Admirals.
