I liked Win 10 but I had to back out of the last version upgrade "creator's update" yesterday. It whacked my Canon 4150 scanner driver again. The Multifunction 4150 got whacked with every upgrade since XP and 7, but 8 and 10 were worse. Previously, had to delete all files from safe mode/reboot/install from safe mode and pray. The routine did not work with Win 10 creator's update. Restored the previous version of 10, and the scanner/copier is working fine again. One office program also needed new "run under" compatibility settings, but again, the fix did not work this time.

If anybody updated to creators update, check your older scanner and older programs.

type in winver in the run command to see if you updated automatically. Mine was version1703.

I'm really surprised not many have Windows 8.1 these days and that Windows 10 is so popular...

I remember in the beginning there were some serious issues with Windows 10... do you think by now they've worked out all the original kinks in Windows 10??? TIA

June 2017 Global & North American Desktop OS Market Share: (StatCounter) ...

Thanks very much Josh for creating the Desktop/Laptop Operating System Poll and expanding it beyond the borders of just this SI board. Now edging close to 150 total inputs is pretty darned good participation. While there are undoubtedly some inputs cast from outside North America there are probably not all that many. At a quick glance the percentage results appear to jibe pretty well with StatCounter's OS shares for North America.

ALL Operating Systems Share Market Share

Windows Operating Systems Market Share by Version

Windows 10 has not only already passed Windows 7 market share of all Windows OS versions in North America but also in Europe (43% to 40%) and in the United Kingdom it has blown by Windows 7 and earlier versions (52% to 35%).

• The StatCounter FAQ explains the methodology used to calculate StatCounter Global Stats.

• StatCounter Global Stats are here: gs.statcounter.com

We can do a final comparison when the Poll closes.
