From what I see of photos of container ships leaving China, I'm not alone. Made in China is a very very big deal. People who sell hydrocarbons also like to buy loads of Made in China. People who buy photovoltaics send ship loads of money to China. Photovoltaics are great for making electric cars [and a lot more besides] function cheaper than hydrocarbons can do. Africa has megatons of various resources that China wants to buy, which funds development in Africa such as El M stringing fibre around Angola. I'm not aware of many people who are entirely satisfied with their material situation, constantly wanting to buy more things and work to fund the purchase of those things from people who produce them. So continued economic activity seems a metaphysical certitude even if the likes of me have eased off on the oars as our material needs such as house, car, tools, tv, computers etc etc etc are satisfied. People in China are a very long way from easing off on the oars. A popular mechanism for failure is socialism or outright communism. That is more of a problem in the so-called "free" world where hordes of people think "free" means free stuff. Socialist redistribution from the workers, savers, producers to the bludgers, indigent and government kleptocrats is suffocating the "free stuff" world. China seems far from that ideology having suffered half a century of Mao's Maelstrom. There can't be a lot of people keen to return to poverty, starvation and murderous ideology. Mqurice
