Well mining and all of the work for tar sands sorta made sense when oil was $150 per bbl.

Not at these current prices..

Virtually all of these projects are going bankrupt in the long run.

Just too expensive to get out of the ground and refine.

Not to mention transport...

And as more electrification happens in transportation it just guarantees fossil fuels will become obsolete.

Much cheaper, cleaner and sustainable renewables are driving nails in the coffin of FF's.

Simple economics at work.
