Craig,

I followed that stock watch (George Dawson posted it originally, post 9764) until the password expired. I remember vividly how it gave the strongest recommendation possible to SGI. SGI was peaked around 30 at the time.

It gave the worst possible rating to MEDX, another stock I trade now and again.

Since that time MEDX is up 30% and SGI is down 60% (breaks my heart ;-))

My point is that their recommendations are good at telling you current trends but lousy at predicting when to cover a short or take profits at the top. Virtually by definition, it gives you the best possible rating when a stock is near its peak and the worst possible rating when a stock is near it's bottom. Kind of seems contradictory, of course many analysts are the same way.

That program advised shorts to cover at 5.70. I would really love to know when it advised them to go short. That program had a buy recommendation on ANCR at $10-$11. I wonder at what value it went to neutral, and avoid, and short candidate. Conversely, assuming ANCR stock worms its way back up, I wonder when it will upgrade to buy and strong buy.

Steve

p.s. Pigboy, That is quite a grim prediciment!
p.s.s I don't ski much anymore. Now I use a snowmobile to place myself in danger of becoming a lovely tree ornament :-)
