figured out that on computers, you don't hit the carriage return or, as we call it, the enter key when

Jozef: I have been working with computers since the mid 1970's and
began using early wordprocessing programs written by my associates
long before 99% of the educated public ever heard of word processors.
It is only with SI that I habitually end each line within the width
of the edit window because this editor won't allow me to maintain
the shorter 6" width I prefer. I won't bother you with the trivia
regarding my reasons.
