Alternatives to some Adobe software are getting quite good. Affinity Photo and Pixelmator do PhotoShop basics very well and do have many of the advanced PS capabilities ability also. Affinity Designer and Graphic by AutoDesk have much of Illustrator's capabilities for vector editing - and they're a lot easier to use. These are all available on the App Store and a 3 of them are available for the iPad. The alternates do have missing features, but most of those are the advanced ones that typical users don't need.
