Ron I generally agree with what you are saying but for example 5 copies of Office 360 for 5 platforms would cost $200 plus per machine amazon.com vs $90 per year. So it will take 8-10 years to match the expense. It is a no brainer if it fits your needs.

I've seen the business justifications ... "more predictable revenue streams" —etc.,etc. But the fact is that between hardware changes and OS changes there's a move to obselesce older paid-up software. Example: search for Adobe user complaints. Jim
