Can you imagine the panic on Wallstreet if the market had to shut down early on options expiration and nobody could close out their positions, I wonder what they would do?

...is very thought provoking and is something I had never considered before. hmmmmmmmm

I for one don't think the U S will hang Japan out to dry the way Japan tried to do us a few years back. But I've been wrong before!

I would like to hear exactly what you mean by the running of the cats and dogs.

Gil means extreme speculation. Cats and dogs are the penny stocks, etc. We had a little bout of it in the spring of '96, but it usually indicates the last phase of a bull market. There is way too much pessimism now (IMHO) for this bull market to be near the end of its run yet.
