That might be part of the reason why four top law firms turned down the opportunity to work with the tweeter-in-chief. ‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen,” one lawyer said last month when asked why he didn’t want to take on this prestigous new client. Well, no surprise here, they were right. From the Washington Post‘s long piece on the tensions within his legal team: He won’t follow instructions. After one meeting in which they urged Trump to steer clear of a certain topic, he sent a tweet about that very theme before they arrived back at their office. He won’t compartmentalize. With aides, advisers and friends breezing in and out of the Oval Office, it is not uncommon for the president to suddenly turn the conversation to Russia — a subject that perpetually gnaws at him — in a meeting about something else entirely. Yes, there is no controlling the president when it comes to his prolific tweeting. You can bet the “topic” that they banned him from tweeting involved Russia and the FBI’s “witch hunt.” Right now, longtime New York civil attorney Marc Kasowitz is leading the pack of lawyers representing Trump. Kasowitz made his own headlines this week with a string of completely unhinged emails in which he responded to a stranger to “watch your back bitch.” Now, some are questioning how long Kasowitz will last, especially since he reportedly is not seeking a security clearance to represent Trump in the Russia probe. If Trump has to go on the hunt again for an attorney, he might have some trouble.
