"The left fails to recognize economics."

Economics is unrecognizable as a science. That's why we keep trying trickle-down, instead of throwing it in the septic tank of history.

Throw a ball in the air, and science says it will fall back to earth. Throw a ball in the air, and conservative economists say it will fall all the way to the center of the earth, while liberals will tell you it will achieve escape velocity. Maybe it's time to suggest that it will just sit there in the air, a perfect harmony of sight and sound, balanced between gravity and anti-gravity, on that very thin line we call call null gravity, a balance only possible to achieve in a place we call the Twilight Zone.
I prolly shouldn't have said that. I wasn't quite ready to reveal mice elf as the poet laureate of economics, but damn, I'm good :>)

But, I digress. Most economists like to ignore all street signs other than "Wall".

>> The right fails to recognize climate science.

I don't think this statement is correct. Gallup poll below by political party. Even 40% of Republicans believe the threat is serious and believe it is already underway. That's < "most", but still a considerable number. More shocking to me is the number who actually believe it will affect them in their lifetimes. Geez.

While I recognize the real science, I recognize that climate science as it is practiced is not real science. Still, there is real science to be found. Those of us who actually believe the science has been falsified are a much smaller figure.

The most astonishing item in the poll is that 85% of Democrats actually believe temperatures are increased due to human activities. Which I assume to mean materially increased, NOTICEABLY increased. When the mean increase is minuscule, and certainly not noticeable by humans who are involved measuring it. It is really absurd when you think about it.

Global warming is real; and the we cannot afford welfare is a myth. Most of the other modern western countries can afford it!

We do not have a welfare financial problem. We have a give away to the plutocrats problem, via lobbyists working for rich to give them massive tax breaks, the military industrial complex, tax cuts for the rich, stupid wars and too low taxes on the rich and corporations.

The near 20 trillion in debt we have was not the result of too much welfare. It was the result of obscene tax cuts for the rich, stupid wars and having to bail out the world and country to avoid a depression after Bush defrauded the worlds banks with CDO's and CDS's and caused a near depression.

The poor have few lobbyists and little power. So without power you do not have the ability to destroying anything.

I found the parallel interesting. The right believes we're headed down a slippery slope to destruction wrt the welfare burden. The left believes we're headed down the slippery slope to destruction wrt global warming. The right fails to recognize climate science. The left fails to recognize economics. Pots and kettles.
