Hi goldworld — "*On one occasion I moved a license for Acronis True Image from one computer to another, but I needed one of their support techs to do it."* In that respect, Acronis has improved. If you go to the site, there's a list of all your Acronis licenses, available with corresponding executable downloads. On a new or changed computer, simply cancel the old, and do a fresh install of your version. No fuss, no muss. Like you, I used to keep a "bank" of executables, together with keys, site passwords, etc. Now, I no longer keep the executables. Because of updates, they rapidly become outdated anyway. In redundant locations (including CDs) I do keep a database of license numbers, site URLs, associated passwords, keys and aliases. But keeping executables themselves is no longer necessary. There are exceptions ... I still use Dragon Naturally Speaking 12; it came on an installation CD. Nuance issued an online 12.5 upgrade which is no longer available. By good fortune I saved the downloaded executable when installing, and years later was able to re-install on a new computer. But that's Nuance, with their tricks -- a whole 'nother story. Jim
