You bought stock at the urging of your son...! You were about to say that catching falling knives is a bad thing. Fair enough. Then again, I'm not a momentum player. Not a 'pure' value investor either. I just back off when something seems overpriced...or more to the point I need more convincing. Your 3dFX is going up in price but this tells me little about the company, a million game gadget makers have come down the pike over the years...could be an accident waiting to happen for all I know. People sure do have their favorites, that's obvious. It is also obvious to me that the average investor cannot keep on top of such a large number of stocks without steady, persistent research.
