How comfortable are companies (and countries) going to be sourcing a critical technology based on "mysterious" algorithms from companies based in a country that has historically been a difficult environment for foreign technology companies? Foreign companies and countries may not be comfortable but this won't matter much for the internal consumption. And if China is first to build A.G.I. we'll have to talk Chinese to our new AI overlords. Which raises an interesting question: do we want A.G.I. to have Chinese-based morality or Western-based morality? Bonus question: can we even define either of these?
