Gary, you are awesome. This is more hard news in one post than I've seen in many months. Thank you very much for your hard work! Did you tell Mory and Michael that you were the representative from the SI thread? Great Job!

Larry

Gary,

I'm sure your informed direct questions did not go un-noticed...they were exceptional. No doudt you just increased our chances of a rather large jump in confidence and price.

Did you get any jobs offers today?

Very well done!!!!!!!

Jeff

Yo_Gary.......................I am long ASND for some time and lurk the thread on a regular basis with out any need to put in my two cents worth, but I must say that the folks on this thread (including myself) are deaply indebted to you for your exceptional input everyday, but more especially to you today in your coverage of the MS conference!

Gary,

Your post was most impressive in scope, detail and lucidity. My take is ASND is truly on the mend. One has to assume Mory et al were holding back a wee bit so as not to make promises that turn out undoable. Would you agree with that assessment? Many thanks for your hard work. Sounds like you truly enjoyed it though.

Regards,

ION$

Thanks for a very detailed report. Great work on your part.

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that ASND is turning around. Just look at the recent BUYING POWER on the stock, you can tell the stock is being accumulated.

The advantage of being in the Silicon Valley is that you hear things-sometimes out of no where but most often there's a basis. The buzz on ASND is that ASND is looking up, and the stock price certainly reflects that I am not the only one who know ASND is turning around.

As far as the buy out offer, it may happen and it would be great... but without it, ASND will still rise purely due to its sound business.

Great work, Gary.
Recently saw a rerun of the movie 'Quizshow'. Apperantly, wall street used to hire lawyers as they were best in getting to the heart of the information. I can see the logic.

<great post, and some remarks ->
-----------
a. Book to bill will exceed 1 for the 4Q
b. "We met our plan" for the 4Q
c. The plan for 1998 is a 30% revenue increase and
he is optimistic about meeting that plan. (In a 1 hour
break-out session, this number was later changed to 15-20%)
----------
not clear the direction for Q4; met our plan and book-to-bill exceeded 1 do not necessarily mean they met q4. As for 98 plan, one can plan anything, so it meant nothing.
If to base on the number below of 300m and 25c for targeted Q1 then to get the low estimated 23c for Q4 they will need to have revenue of around 292m.
-----------
. Ashby also said: "Analysts project 300MM and 25cents/share for Q1...Frankly,
anything over that, I don't care. Our primary objective is to regain the respect of the
Street. We will meet the projected numbers, towards the high end each time." I got
the definite sense that Q198 is not a problem, that it is effectively met already (or
certainly will be).
-----------
this is strange; the overall concensus for the low for Q198 is 26c and the high is 30c. So, the number 25c is already low.

Gary, until I read your post I was under the impression that
GRF and core switching are the same thing
(forgive my ignorance in networking matters )

- is the 'backbone' segment a service business akin
to e.g. Lucent ?

- also, can you comment on ASND view of Gigabit
Ethernet,vs ATM. I have seen an Intel white paper
favoring the former for cost reasons and because
of no learning curve

Thanks

Gary, I just got a chance to read your review of the conference and interview with Mory. Thanks for all the hard work. This is an incredibly thorough interview of Mory with some great information. I'm cautiously optimistic that all this will come to fruition and be reflected in the stock price. Thanks again.

Gary,

Thank You...thank you I genuflected while saying that to complete the reverence, etc, etc.

Re: x. I asked about acquisition rumors (either with ASND as buyer or as target). Both Ejabat and Ashby declined comment.

Was there any indication at all from any of their faces as to the truth behind the rumors? "...neither confirm nor deny" just doesn't seem "right". It's eating me alive.

What's your opinion?

Again...Thank you, thank you
Small Fry
