GE & MSFT

Actually, the charting trends work best over longer periods. Connecting lows on GE from around the end of October through about 9 days ago shows its on a healthy uptrend. Extending the line one day says that as long as it stays above 73.5, its stell worth holding onto.

Connecting lows for MSFT from about 10 days ago to 5-6 days ago shows it was not able to systain a full reversal, and is leveling now in the peak of what may be a minor reversal. Extending the line says that if MSFT can stay above 128 today, itmay have just stalled for a few days in the rally. If it goes down, then the reversal failed and we can start connecting highs again.

Generally one needs about three days of confirmation movement to call a char pattern, although familiarity wit h a specific ticker may give you an edgeo n occasion.
