Miljenko, this may not be a clear explanation, but it does contain some facts that may be useful:

Short interest in Arris was 1,487,722 shares in the December report (mid month). This represented 10% of shares outstanding, or about 8 days of average volume. (SQNA short interest was insignificant at 60,130 shares.) Covering should push up the price somewhat. Particularly so because short sales had increased by a magnitude of ten since September-October.
