George, good to hear from you. As usual, some very insightful comments. Are you getting ready to jump back into DEC? That is, with a long position?

George, thanks for your response and the facts. This is the type of discussion I was hoping for.

A couple of questions....

1. How did you calculate $23 in cash? Using end of Q1 #'s of approx. $2.4 billion in cash and approx 151 million shares outstanding I get approx $16 per share in cash

2. How will Intel help Alpha. It's my understanding that DEC sold the fab to Intel as well as getting some cash and future credits on Intel products. Now the credits will certainly help DEC margins on their WindowsNT business but do you really think Intel will push any platform besides Merced as a 64 bit engine.

BTW...DELL and CPQ, they have already been shorted.

I have been posting hoping to get a few responses with facts to
better understand DEC's current situation. I did not get interested in shorting DEC until Sybase announced their miss. I don't really care which way the company goes as long as I'm on the correct side of the trade.
