>>>Has anyone on this thread actually bot one of these warranties ?<<<

Sailor if you are referring to an APCO warranty no. If you are asking about warranties in general, yes. I have purchased two and they were on new vehicles. If I was to purchase a used vehicle, I would be extremely interested! I purchased the new warranties because they extended the term frm 3yr 36k with $100.00 deductible bumper to bumper
to 7yr 100k no deductible bumper to bumper. Both did not include normal maintenence such as oil change, breaks etc.

As far as a used car, it would obviously depend on the price of the vehicle and the warranty. You have no idea how someone drove or why they sold that car. If you finance the car and the warranty the additional money you spend is generally not that much more a month.
For some people like myself, its worth the piece of mine.

Hope that helps.

Cary

Sailor,

With these warranties you are taking out an insurance policy. I am going to call my friend and ask her how much she paid, as that subject hadn't come up. But, with the price of labor and car parts in this day and age, you could recoup that pretty quickly. We have spent hundreds in just one year on a car we had that gave us fits. You are protecting yourself over a number of years. If you own the car for, lets say, 5 years, that is $160 per year. That certainly is a lot cheaper than repairs would be. Maybe you would have a car that was a peach, and you wouldn't need it, then again, what if it was a lemon. Insurance gives you peace of mind in the event something goes wrong you are not out of pocket when you can least afford it. But that is something each person has to decide for themselves. Hope this gave you some food for thought, and I am interested in any and all opinions. Thanks.

Keep smiling
