The Killing is a good series. Vietnam (Viet Nam)... we had no mission. The leaders couldn't imagine what the end game was - only that it wasn't communist. They didn't understand who or what they were fighting, how they would get in or out. I always ask "What does 'victory' look like?" Since WW I it usually looks like shit. WW II was an exception.

Another good one is 'The Bridge' - the Swedish or Norwegian version, although the American remake is good too. In it, someone is murdered exactly on the border, on a bridge, half on one side, half on the other..
