Looks like I am wrong. As shown above, Republicans now control the governor’s office in 33 states, amounting to 60 percent of the population, while Democrats control just 16 states with 40 percent of the population. The upcoming election in New Jersy should change the figures.

During his successful 2016 campaign, Justice went out of his way to advertise his antipathy for his party’s national ticket, his friendship with the Trump family, and his background as a coal-company owner. He was actually a registered Republican until 2015. And he’s the state’s sole billionaire.
