I agree - most of the professionals are not making any sense at all, contradicting those around them, and contradicting themselves. I doubt if anyone has any idea what is going to happen in the near future, let alone in a year or so.

Regarding devaluations of currencies, I have a question for everyone. If the US dollar does devalue, then what is the nett effect of all the recent currency devaluations? Surely all currencies can't be devalued - they have to devalue against some other currency (generally the US dollar). If the absolute value (as opposed to the relative value of one currency against another) of all currencies is decreased, then surely the value of commodities like gold will increase?? What does economic theory have to say about this?
