WAPO reports that the FBI "raided the home" of Paul Manafort two weeks ago.

Raid occurred in predawn hours. Looking for tax documents and foreign banking records.

Note: Search warrants require a showing of probable cause to a judge.

The POTUS attacks on Sessions began the day before and continued for days following 7/26 (the early predawn raid).

I'm thinking the WH is monitoring Mueller team activities and got wind of the search warrant issuance (likely issued the 25th). If so, I'd expect a move was made to tipoff Manafort. If Mueller's men realized some night owl sent Manafort a wee hours message about a earchsay arrantway, they'd get the order to go in early before he could get his shredder going.
