AFCI/Teledata: My understanding from a day of research on the subject is that Teledata was expecting to get some end of the quarter business from South Africa Telecomm and the business didn't materialize. The reason- AFCI won the business and South African Telecomm has decided to buy further equipment from AFCI not from Teledata. I'm always leary of newer companies that are advertised as "the next...". Wasn't Cyrix suppose to be the next Intel? Wasn't QCOM suppose to be the next Motorola?IMOO

Clam,

Thanks for your post. I am still learning about the finances, the market, and the traders. That is why I appreciate a clear and measured response like yours.

Your mention of the meaning of looking into the future is extremely important. Looking at a 12 month trailing P/E would seem to be of little value. I think that the Adtran HDSL agreement will help them win contracts in the near future. I am concerned though on the mention of it being exclusive? Does anyone know if that means both ways or just that AFCI will only use Adtran?

I had not heard about the South Africa deal going to AFCI if that had not been announced yet they may be saving that for a post earnings announcement. The company I mentioned to Steve, TKLC has announced that they will supply to Telecom South Africa with deliveries starting 1Q98.

Makes you wanna go HMMMM!

Thanks again,

Milkman
