If the CPU, audio and video costs approx. $400 less...
Assuming 50% margin for Compaq...that translates into $600 difference on the wholesale level and say 20% for the retailer results in a $720
difference...at the retail level. Notebook margins are high but I don't know Compaqs or a retailers exact margins but I'll bet I'm low.

Speed, don't know for sure but a GX-133 system compared favorably with a Pentium 133 system. Note that I said "system"...
