You are correct - the LD50 for water is 6 liters (assuming my source is correct).

The toxin is in the dose.

She had 16 pints which is 7.57 liters.

If you weight around 220 lbs, it's around 8-9 liters of water.

Then there is the question of amount of sugar, which is in a form that is readily available to the body...
