Hi Joan,

1) Go to System Preferences… (upper left, under the Apple logo)
2) Click on Users & Groups
3) Click on Login Items
4) Look in the list of items here for Firefox (or something related to it).
5) If you find something highlight it and click the minus button (-) below to remove it.
6) Restart your computer to make sure Firefox has stopped launching on restart.

If you're unsure of what to remove post a screenshot here of your Login Item

To take a screenshot press CMD-SHFT-3 all at once. A new file will be create on the desktop that start with the words "Screen Shot" followed by the current date and time.
